From Friday 9 October to Sunday 11 October, the Association will be holding its annual Conference. This year we're in Auckland at the Centra Airport Hotel. Business sessions are held during Friday and Sunday while Saturday is our open day, where guest speakers join us. The official opening occurs at 9.00 am on Saturday 10 October. Len Brown, Mayor of Manukau City will conduct the opening and he will be followed by guest speakers each of whom will focus on a topic that mirrors this year's theme. Guest speakers include: Maryanne Diamond, World Blind Union President; Hon Pansy Wong, Associate Minister for Disability Issues; Neil Jarvis, RNZFB Executive Director Access, Innovation and Enterprise; Lynne Pillay, Labour Spokesperson for Disability Issues; Rosslyn Noonan, Chief Commissioner, Human Rights Commission; Linda Beck, ABC NZ Board Member; Doug Johnston, Life Member and Leadership Champion. On Saturday evening is a more festive occasion, and an opportunity to celebrate the year's acitivites and achievements. Take a look at our programme and the various topics we'll be discussing so that when you listen in to the proceedings you'll have some background to the issues before us.
