We are often described as a consumer organisation because we represent blind consumers. Key ABC NZ relationships include the following. The Blind CommunityFull membership of ABC NZ is open to anyone eligible for registration with the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind. Royal New Zealand Foundation of the BlindNew Zealand's largest provider of services to blind people. Public advocacy by ABC NZ has facilitated the Foundation shifting its focus from largely providing institutionalised sheltered employment and hostel accommodation for blind people, to providing individualised home-based rehabilitation and training services of today.
